With the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend we have been casting our minds back to an early Helix job. We were asked by Lord March to help ready the site for the Goodwood Revival and transform some back stage areas into a transport hub for the festival.
So starting with this car park area as our blank canvas and plenty of period research we developed a series of vintage garages and signage.
Until with some expert scenic artwork and lots of meticulous plaster brick we had something that looked more like this.
And once the cars arrived it really looked quite at home as part of the celebrations.
Suddenly it was in use and you would never have known that just a couple of days before it had been very 21st century.
And then we were on to part two, the Jaguar cafe area. The team of carpenters, designers, scaffolders, scenic painters and more moved in and this is what happened next.
So far not very exciting but not long after this, it looked like this…
And just like before, once the visitors arrived it looked like it had always been there.
Hopefully they will have another beautiful weekend for the event this year.
